PRODUCTION PHASE & SAMPLE
The final assignment of the second semester was to make a real sample together with a production file. The sample you should make had to be one of the designs you created during the design phase. So the sample had to fit into the brand identity you described in the collection plan. I choose to make the men’s short I designed in the design phase. Making the sample gave me the opportunity to put all my sewing skills into practice, but also everything I learned during the pattern making classes. Making my own short was a big challenge, therefore I am extra proud that it worked out well and fits into the concept of Nr. 14.

The production file had to provide all the documentation needed to make the sample in a factory. From the measurements of the short to the entire workflow. To find out what is needed to make a short was extremely informative and helped me understanding the clothing industry even more.
Besides making the sample and production file we learned to work with the programme Cad Cam. A computer programme that makes clothing patterns digital.
